Refund Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026 · Version 2026-10-09
This Refund Policy applies to paid OwlResume products and access plans supplied by OwlResume ("we," "us," or "our").
For purchases made through Paddle, Paddle is the Merchant of Record and authorized reseller. Paddle processes payments, taxes, receipts, and approved refunds. This policy supplements the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy. If applicable law or Paddle's applicable buyer terms give you greater rights, those rights apply. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights or Paddle's authority to decide or process refunds.
1. One-time purchases
Current OwlResume paid plans are one-time purchases for the fixed access period and usage limits displayed before payment. They do not automatically renew, and there is no recurring subscription charge to cancel.
You purchase access to the digital resume-building functionality, templates, AI features, and export tools included in your selected plan. Access is activated after confirmed payment. The membership period runs from activation, or from the existing expiry date for an eligible manual extension, regardless of whether you use every feature or allowance. Stopping use or deleting your account does not by itself create a refund right.
2. Default policy: non-refundable purchases
Except where applicable law or Paddle's applicable buyer terms require otherwise, purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. OwlResume does not offer a general money-back guarantee or change-of-mind refunds. The exceptions below remain available.
If you believe an unauthorized or duplicate charge occurred, paid access was not delivered, or a material technical defect prevents use of a purchased feature as described, contact us or Paddle promptly. Separate intentional purchases, including manual extensions, are not automatically duplicate charges.
We will investigate the order and relevant technical records. Where appropriate and lawful, we may correct activation, restore incorrectly consumed quota, resolve the defect, or offer an extension or other remedy. If applicable law requires a refund, or Paddle otherwise approves one, it will be processed through Paddle. We will not require you to accept a substitute remedy in place of a refund to which you are legally entitled.
Temporary outages and subjective dissatisfaction with AI output are not automatically evidence of a material defect. Persistent faults or a material difference from the product description will be assessed on their facts. Nothing in this section excludes remedies for a product that is faulty, not as described, or not fit for a legally guaranteed purpose. Merely describing a product as digital or virtual does not remove those rights.
3. Statutory withdrawal and Paddle discretionary refunds
Depending on where you live and the nature of the purchase, you may have statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights. The applicable periods and conditions vary by country. Those rights take priority over our default non-refundable policy.
Where the law permits, loss of a digital-content withdrawal right depends on valid express consent and acknowledgment and the relevant supply conditions being satisfied. General acceptance of our Terms, account activation, or the label "virtual product" alone does not establish a waiver. Digital services may have different rules from downloadable digital content. Paddle's Refund Policy contains buyer and country-specific information.
Paddle may independently consider a discretionary refund requested within 14 calendar days of the transaction date, taking account of usage, the request reason, and other relevant circumstances. This is Paddle's discretionary review window, not an OwlResume money-back guarantee. Paddle may approve a full refund, approve a partial refund, or decline the request. Statutory and other mandatory remedy deadlines may differ; this 14-day window does not limit them.
4. Requests that are normally not refundable
Unless required by law or covered by Section 2, we normally do not refund:
- change-of-mind requests, including where access or quotas were not used;
- requests based on ordinary use, repeated exports, or consumption of plan quotas where the Service operated as described;
- inability to obtain an interview, job, visa, admission, or a particular applicant-tracking-system score;
- dissatisfaction with AI output where the feature operated as described and the output can reasonably be reviewed or edited;
- problems caused by a device or browser that does not meet requirements clearly disclosed before purchase, or failure to follow those requirements;
- loss of access caused by fraud, prohibited use, account sharing, or a material breach of our Terms; or
- price differences resulting from later promotions, exchange-rate changes, or taxes correctly charged at checkout.
We may refuse requests involving fraud, refund abuse, chargeback abuse, or other manipulative conduct. We assess each request consistently and do not restrict non-waivable consumer rights.
5. How to request a refund
The fastest way to request a refund for a Paddle order is through Paddle Buyer Support. You may also contact us at owlresume@163.com or Help Center.
Include:
- the email address used for the purchase;
- the Paddle transaction or order number from your receipt;
- the purchase date and product or plan; and
- a short explanation of the reason for your request and, for a technical problem, relevant screenshots or error details.
Do not email full card details or passwords. We or Paddle may ask for reasonable information to verify the purchaser and investigate the request.
6. Review and processing
Our support targets are to acknowledge requests within 2 business days and provide a decision or meaningful update within 5 business days. These are response targets, not a guaranteed refund or bank settlement deadline. Complex technical, fraud, or payment investigations may take longer. Paddle retains authority to process and decide refunds as Merchant of Record under its buyer terms and applicable law. Requests are handled through support and Paddle; an in-app refund button is not required to use these support channels.
Approved refunds are returned through Paddle to the original payment method where possible, within the periods required by applicable law and Paddle's policy. We do not issue cash, cryptocurrency, gift-card, or off-platform refunds for a Paddle transaction. After Paddle processes a refund, the time for funds to appear depends on the payment method and financial institution; card refunds commonly take several business days.
A full refund ends the paid access and plan allowances attributable to the refunded purchase. Where your account includes other paid purchases, we will review their remaining entitlements separately. For a partial refund, any access or quota adjustment will correspond to the refunded benefit and be explained to you. Access corrections may be handled by support; a refund does not itself request account deletion. If only part of the purchased benefit was affected, a partial refund or service extension may be offered where appropriate and lawful.
7. Chargebacks
If you do not recognize a charge or believe there is a problem, contact Paddle Buyer Support or us promptly so the matter can be investigated. This does not prevent you from exercising any lawful right to dispute a charge with your payment provider. Access associated with a disputed payment may be temporarily restricted during investigation where permitted by law and Paddle's terms. A good-faith complaint, lawful refund request, or lawful payment dispute is not itself abuse.
8. Tax refunds
Paddle calculates and collects applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes as Merchant of Record. Requests concerning an incorrect tax charge or tax-exempt purchase should be submitted to Paddle Buyer Support with the relevant transaction details and valid tax documentation. Time limits may apply under Paddle's policy and local law.
9. Policy versions
The policy and purchase terms applicable when you purchased govern that purchase, subject to mandatory law. This non-refundable policy does not retroactively remove any refund entitlement promised for an earlier purchase. Material changes apply to future purchases, with notice where required.
